My Random act story:

A couple of weeks ago, I had to get my son’s passport renewed. I got all the paperwork done (or so I thought) and went to the post office to submit it. It was a Saturday so there was a long queue. When I finally got to the counter, I was just thinking to myself that never mind the wait, at least the task will be finished.

The lady at the counter went through the paperwork and informed me that it was not completed correctly. I was initially frustrated with myself. But the lady then patiently helped me sort through everything and I know that she did not have to. She could have just told me what needs to be done and get back in queue or come another day. But she made that extra effort and I was so thankful that she took the time and extended a small gift of kindness towards me.

It was a simple thing that took a few extra minutes for her but made a big difference for me. Her attitude clearly stayed with me beyond those few minutes. It reminded me that a little kindness surely does go a long way.

  2. Awww, congrats on the award beloved!
That was nice of the lady at the post office, despite the long queue. PS: When I saw this word β€œqueue” I smiled, only someone under the Queen’s English use and are familiar with certain words 🀫

  4. There must be many Dawns out there in the world, but because I was reading it, I seemed to think it was me. πŸ˜€ Some silly emotion then kicked in as I reflected that nobody says such things about my posts and I panicked. Relief came next – it’s not me! That said, I do love kindness – it is perhaps my favourite quality and usually underrated, so thank you for honouring it today. I treasure people who are kind and I do try to translate the call to love into the call to be kind – love in action, as it were, in a way that makes sense to this personality. I am blessed to work in many voluntary spheres of work and I meet kindness everywhere I go – often as much among the people I am working for, as those I am working with. I think the key to kindness is gratitude. Don’t let the idea of entitlement strangle and rob us of humble gratitude.

    1. So true that kindness is underrated and love in action is so much more powerful that just words that are not supported or followed by actions that reflect that love and care.
Thank you for reading and commenting
      Blessings ❀️
