Hey everyone! I hope that all of you have had a lovely Christmas and new year. I know I have been silent on the blog for the last couple of weeks, did not plan on taking a break from posting but ending up doing so.
Another year gone by, and I feel we keep barreling down through each year at a faster pace. With the turn of each year, we are filled with hope and expectation of what lies ahead, what the year may hold for us. We look forward to accomplishing some things including maybe changing or bettering some habits or traits within us.
Times change, seasons shift, months and years go by, and our constant through all of it is Jesus. And so, although a new year can bring a sense of hope to us, our true hope is in no one other that Jesus. Be it January 1st or the tail end of December, Jesus is our constant, our Immanuel, our faithful and loving Lord. He is present with us every single day. Rest and rejoice in that knowledge. Persevere and be still with that truth.
I share with you Psalm 65, it is a psalm of praise, of God’s great goodness to his people. The words remind us of the Lord’s wonderous love, care, provision and works and it evokes the people’s awe and moves them to praise and worship.
As we embark into this year, may we reflect on the beautiful words of this psalm and step forth into this year with a hopeful dependence on our Saviour.
Psalm 65
Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled.
You who answer prayer, to you all people will come.
When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.
You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Saviour,
the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas,
who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it.
You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.
The grasslands of the wilderness overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness.
The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing.
God Bless
What hope it brings to remember that Jesus is our constant. No matter what is going on around us, He is always right there beside us. And I love the Psalm you shared. It reminded me of how God is in all the details, big and small. He formed immense mountains, yet He also sees each one of us. He doesn’t miss anything. Thank you for this, Manu! ♥️

Beautiful, Manu. We used to sing a song based on verse 8 of that Psalm in my young adult fellowship. 🙂

That’s beautiful Manu! I repeat this scripture throughout my day “I will be with you always, to the end of the age.” That is so comforting! It’s in Psalms and I don’t recall the verse but that’s ok!

Jesus is our constant, never changing solid rock. When everything and everyone around us changes, he remains the same. Many children grow up in unstable homes and experience anxious attachment styles, from not having stability and consistency. Thank God that we have a father who is constant and stable. Bless you Manu and blessings for the New Year. ❤️🙏🏾

I’m not sure how I missed this post until now, but I’m glad I finally saw it. There was one line in particular that I loved so much and that captured the essence of this post so well: “Times change, seasons shift, months and years go by, and our constant through all of it is Jesus.” I think I may just want to make a wall hanging of this quote of yours to have on my wall. What a beautiful, truthful, and comforting statement!
