Gift of Time

Living with limits is the new norm at the moment. Living life with some confinement and limitation is something that we are all experiencing now. Limits on where you can go – only of it is essential, we are allowed to venture out. Limits on some essential items at the grocers – so as to have enough for everyone. To tackle what was allowed and not allowed, things were quickly categorised into essential and non-essential. It does not necessarily mean what is good and what is not but rather what is deemed essential and non-essential in the current climate. Living … Continue reading Gift of Time

Lord, Realign my Perspective

During these challenging days I realise that I have good days and not so good ones and on the not so good days I have to be intentional about realigning my perspective. Consider your perspective and the difference it can make in how you feel about things that happen in your life. Perspective can be a powerful thing isn’t it. The power of one’s perspective changes how we feel, think, see things and as a consequence how we behave. Luke 24:13-35 is one such story where the perspective of two people was drastically changed. The story happens on resurrection Sunday. … Continue reading Lord, Realign my Perspective

Raise, Strengthen and Deepen

God’s ways are higher , He has a divine purpose for His timing and He will turn all that the enemy means for evil, for our good Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Waiting on God is no foreign notion to most of us. God hears our cries but sometimes He delays for a reason, because His ways are not our ways. In Psalm 69:17 David … Continue reading Raise, Strengthen and Deepen

Are we Living well?

Ephesians 5:15-20 “Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” As we continue to adapt to this changed way of … Continue reading Are we Living well?

Be the loudest Voice for Jesus

Hello from down under. If anyone has had the dream of wanting to be a part of a dystopian themed movie, well, it sometimes does feel like it now or at least if all you see is the news, then you feel like it for sure. I have been very cautious with how I engage with social media at the moment. Whilst it keeps us informed and enables us to stay in touch with others, it can definitely drag you onto a path that can feed into any fear related to the current situation. I want to thank everyone who … Continue reading Be the loudest Voice for Jesus

An encounter with Jesus

Jesus is the revealer and the renewer of life. How does He bring about this renewal? Jesus meeting a person or having an interaction with a person often led to a radically changed trajectory of their life path. If we look at the encounters of Jesus in the new testament there are either some physical, emotional, social or soul changes. An encounter with Jesus should reflect a change in one’s life and it is not a one and done thing, we all know that it results in a life process of continuous renewal, refining and growth. One such encounter we … Continue reading An encounter with Jesus

I am not very fond of storms; it does freak me out a little bit. As summer came to an end in Perth, we do get some thunderstorms at this time of the year and being on the coast, it gets extremely windy. In the safety of your home a thunderstorm can seems very different to experiencing one when you are out on the water in a small boat. Well the disciples found themselves in this very situation as we read in Mark 4:35-41. Mark 4:35-41 “That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to … Continue reading Storms

Descriptor of HIM

There are some people in life whom we love spending time with and some we hope for the interaction to end sooner rather than later. There are those who give us a very clear sense of the spirit’s presence in their life after we spend some time with them. And it leaves you feeling really good and peaceful and wanting a little more of that interaction. I have the blessing of knowing a lovely elderly lady at church who is one such person, the spirits presence and work in her life is so evident. No bad day or changed circumstance … Continue reading Descriptor of HIM

Heart Reality

Zechariah 7: 3b “Should I mourn and fast in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?” In Zechariah chapter 7, we see a few of the Jews had been sent by others to ask whether they should continue to mourn and fast in remembrance of the destruction of the temple. At this point the work on the rebuilding of the temple was well underway. The fasts were held in the fifth month, when King Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem and in the seventh month, when Gedaliah, their governor was murdered and all the people fled as they were afraid of … Continue reading Heart Reality

“I found something vintage”. Finding something vintage would be nice but nope, not in my case. Let me be more specific “I found something vintage in my son’s schoolbag”. This happened towards the end of school year last year in December. He is a teenager now so I thought I could trust him with ensuring that if there is any leftover or uneaten food from his lunch, it will be removed from his bag. How I found out – there was this awful smell when I walked behind him one morning as he was ready to leave for school and … Continue reading Clarity
