Holding onto God’s Peace

Hi All,

Am sharing another episode of my podcast series on the Psalms today.

How do you tend to respond when things are falling apart in your life or when fear takes a hold of you? Take a deep dive into Psalm 3 with me and allow these words to give you a framework of responding in trials and holding onto God’s peace through prayer.

My podcast is called “The Faithfood Podcast” There is a link to the podcast on the home page of my blog, also available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and a link for today’s episode below.

  1. You touched on many great points in this episode. I appreciate that you included the backstory and context. I had not put that together before that David’s lack of action with what happened to Tamar led to Absalom’s rebellion. And I loved your nudge about how spending time with God needs to be a priority, because you are absolutely right – the enemy will try to steer us away. Thank you for the encouragement and the reminder to run to God with the difficulties we face. Have a blessed weekend, Manu! 💕

  2. I enjoyed your message. As I am navigating various situations in my own life, it was a blessing to be reminded that God’s love does not change, something He has been teaching me lately and your message was another comforting confirmation. I always like to hear about David because He was honest in His conversations with God. He was also a great example that we don’t have to be perfect for God to love us or accomplish things through us. You’re so right about how spending time with God draws us closer to Him. I love that we can talk to Him through out our day but I also find that He will often wake me early in the morning to spend time with Him and it is an awesome way to start my day. I feel His peace and know that He is with me. Thank you Manu. This was really helpful.

  3. One does wonder why David didn’t act when his daughter was violated by his son. David made a grand effort to follow God’s Law and, as a father, he was responsible for raising his children in the ways of the Lord. So why didn’t he act? Maybe you’re right-he was waiting on God as he did for so many challenges. Your podcast was very easy to listen to as you have a soothing voice encouraging us to let the Lord be our strength just as David did! 🙂

    1. I do think it was difficult for him to do it as Amnon was his child too and so he ended up just sitting on it. Not the right thing to do. I also think about raising his children in the Lord’s ways, we know from scripture that Solomon grew up fearing God and he learned that from his father David. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words Nancy, very much appreciate it.

  4. Hi Manu, you made several very interesting points, that I hadn’t considered.
Several of your statements resonated with me; lean to God in Prayer; faith can vanish fear; and surrender your burdens to the Lord. The Lord is our strength and our hope.
My one other comment is that it would be great if you could make your pod casts into two parts – part 1 and part 2. In my hectic life it is difficult for me to find 27 minutes of free time. 😊
    Peace and blessing! 💖🪻🌺

    1. Thank you Jeanne. I appreciate you taking the time and listening to it. I understand that finding the time is not always easy. But to be honest putting it together is easier from a recording point of view. Maybe you could try what I do. I sometimes listen to something and get back to the remaining accordingly when I have time. Although will keep the timing in mind for future 🤗

  5. I’ve been reading the book of Psalms of late and I resonate with how David pours His heart to God. 🙂
He has a heart that we all should have.

And just as you shared in the podcast, God shows up for us when we cry out to Him. And focusing on the giver of the blessing is important, just as David did. 🙌🏼
May we continue to draw strength from God and rely on Him in every situation we face. 🙏🏻

Thank you for sharing on this, ma’am. 🥰

    1. Yes, David does model that so well for us. And we do have assurance through scripture that the Lord indeed does hear our cry.
Thank you Mercy. Have a blessed day 💙
