You all know by now that I love smoothies. This is another one that is so simple to make and delicious.
This is a great way to combine your breakfast and coffee. The addition of coffee in it is ideal for that wake up we need either in the morning or when we are in that afternoon slump.
This smoothie is quite filling and I have been loving it for my breakfast almost daily for the last few days.
The addition of cinnamon adds a lovely flavour and has health benefits like anti-inflammatory properties, lowers blood sugar levels and is rich in antioxidants.
Banana adds flavour and fullness to the smoothie. Along with it being rich in potassium, it adds a natural sweetness. You can use a sliced and frozen banana, it does make the end result creamier. But if you do not have frozen, add in more ice.
The almond butter makes it a bit richer, fuller and creamier.
I use instant coffee granules. I dissolve them in a bit of room temperature water and only then add that to blend. I find that adding the instant coffee granules as is, sometimes leaves a fine residue of the granules in my smoothie and it does not taste good. So, if there is one step, I think is necessary, it would be to dissolve the coffee in water, mix well and then add it into the blender.
I use regular milk, I like to get in some of my calcium intake with my morning smoothie. But you can use any milk of your preference.
I add a bit of honey for that extra bit of sweetness. If you like the natural bitter taste of coffee you can skip the honey or reduce the amount you add in.

Let’s get to the recipe.
Ingredients
Banana – 1 medium, sliced and frozen
Coffee – 1 teaspoon instant granules, dissolved in room temperature water
Almond butter – 1 heaped teaspoon
Vanilla essence – ½ teaspoon
Cinnamon powder – ¼ teaspoon
Honey – 2 teaspoons
Milk – 1 cup
Ice cubes
Method
- Dissolve the coffee granules in room temperature water.
- Add in the coffee solution and the rest of the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Enjoy!!!!
Sounds scrumptious! I’m saving this recipe. 😋

I need to try this recipe….sounds delicious…the only thing I don’t have is almond butter…thinking if it’s possible to use an alternative that gives the creaminess….

Thank you. Any nut butter can be used as an alternative but if you do not have any at hand you can take some raw cashews soak them in hot water ( not boiling) for about 15-20 minutes. This gets them really soft and then once they are drained, grind them and you get a cashew cream. That will add a lovely creaminess to it.
Hope this helps 😊.
