Watermelon Banana Smoothie

I know that for those living in cooler parts of the world, having a cold smoothie may not be what you are feeling right now. But before we here in Australia head into cooler weather, I am making use of the beautiful sunshine and warmer weather. And this smoothie is a very tasty and refreshing drink that is ideal for warmer weather.

This is one of those smoothies that is not much to look at but tastes so so yum. It is quick to make, great for a quick breakfast or an after-school filler. It just needs four ingredients – watermelon, banana, milk and a bit of condensed milk.

The star ingredient of this smoothie is watermelon. I used deliciously ripe, seedless watermelon. The bananas should be ripe and can be used as is or frozen. Make sure to slice the banana prior to freezing so that it blends well. The banana adds a beautiful creaminess to the smoothie.

The addition of the condensed milk is to add some sweetness and the flavour incorporates really well with the watermelon and banana.

Milk is added in a very small portion just to aid the blending process.

Ingredients

Watermelon – 2 cups, chopped and frozen

Banana – 1, sliced and frozen

Condensed milk – 2 tablespoons

Milk – 1-2 tablespoons

Method

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend till incorporated well, If required, scrape the sides once in between to ensure even mixing. Serve cold.

Enjoy!!!!

  1. I am going to try this!
Watermelon and bananas are readily available in rural NL, and condensed milk is one of the staples of our diet here. Regular milk is known locally as : “fresh milk”. Thanks ! 🤗
