Questions from Purple Rose

  1. What do you wish you knew more about?

Technology, I tend to rely upon my personal tech handyman (my husband )

  2. What is the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen?

For me personally, when my husband held my son for the first time. His expression was priceless.

  3. Where would you spend all your time if you could?

I love my home and my space, so home would be it for me.

  4. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

    Experience the mission field.

  5. When do you feel truly “alive”?

After my cup of tea in the morning 🙂

  6. What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned?

    Waiting on God’s timing.

  7. What are three interesting facts about you?

I tend to look for the Lord’s hand in everything.

I am a creature of habit (my husband will testify to that)

I tend to make others in my care creatures of habit too (my dog will demonstrate)

  8. What is your favourite Bible verse?

I love Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the shelter of the most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

  9. Who is your favourite Bible character?

    Joshua.

  10. What is the best advice you ever received?

Not to overthink the moment, but to savour it while it lasts (my husband gave me that little nugget of wisdom, I married a clever one didn’t I J)

11. What is your favourite blog post you have written? Link?

Focused Faith, I enjoyed what the Lord taught me as I dug into that                scripture passage.

Cindy Dawson’s Questions for me:

  1. Name a blogger who makes you laugh. Include a link. (Because we all need to laugh more!)

I really cannot narrow this down, humour infused in regular writing is what I enjoy, so different writers give me a laugh either through what they write or when I interact with them.

  2. Do you know a pet that thinks he’s a person? (I know several.) Tell us about it!

The resident toddler in my home- my dog – Buzzbe. I find him sitting on the couch like a little human. He loves a pillow to lay his royal head on. Has to have his blankie to lie down.

And seems to have a few of my traits –

Dieting is super hard.

Not a fan of socialising

Is a scientist in his own right – he is doing extensive research on “The effects of long durations of sleep” (as he sleeps for most of the day including the night).

3. Give between 1 and 5 blogging tips that have helped you.

Consistency and to just love your existing readers rather than focusing too much on gaining more followers.

4. What is the first word that comes to your mind when I say “JESUS”.

My Lord

5. What is your favourite book (besides the Bible), and in 3 sentences or less, tell why?

Rather than favourite, I would say a series that I enjoyed reading, The Millennium series by Steig Larsson.

I usually struggle to relate to a main protagonist if they are very far removed from me but in this series, even though the protagonist is my polar opposite, the story and writing made me feel for her and understand her and root for her.

6. What is your favourite “first sentence” from a book you read? You can give more than one answer. I love this question! (I stole it from Yari!!)

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

This is the first sentence of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and stands as one of the most famous first lines in literature.

7. What is your favourite book ending? (Searching for answers to 6 & 7 will make you a better writer.)

Just a happy ending, not a big fan of stories where they make you love the character through the book and leave you feeling miserable when they die in the end.

8. What is a Scripture that you have memorized?

Psalm 121.

9. If you were going to be the speaker at a Christian conference, what would be your topic?

Not to be Lukewarm in your walk with God

10. What part of God’s creation do you love the most?

The Diversity and uniqueness of all that He has made.

11. Quote a Psalm that you love.

Psalm 91. “He who dwells in the shelter of the most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

      1. You’re most welcome! Your posts are always an inspiration to me! I am finding more and more how many of us bloggers/writers have a lot in common, such as not enjoying talking about ourselves. But I am thankful to meet like-minded people and thankful that we have the internet to communicate when we are all in different locations!🤗
