Barnabas Award

What a joy it is to share with everyone that I have been nominated for the Barnabas Award.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Preciousone for nominating me. Her posts overflow with genuineness and a deep love for the Lord. It has been such a pleasure to get to know you.

Check out her blog if you have not already done so;

https://deandrahurst.com/

You have been chosen for this recognition because of the encouragement and inspiration you bring to your readers.

The way this works:

Thank the person who nominated you, and share their blog.

Think of five bloggers that encourage and inspire you and nominate them.

List five things about yourself and answer the questions.

Lastly, ask your nominees five questions. Why five? Because it is the number that signifies grace.

Five things about myself:

  1. Not a fan of folding laundry
  2. I can’t sing
  3. I can play table tennis
  4. I am a decent cook
  5. I love coffee

Questions for me:

  1. What was the last thing said or done by another that encouraged you?

A friend thanking me for being alongside her through a tough time and saying that I am like her “spiritual mother”.

  2. What was the last thing you did or said to encourage another?

Helped a friend look back and see God’s presence and provision in her life and encouraged her to focus on Him.

  3. Give the link to the most encouraging post you’ve read on WordPress?

I honestly cannot narrow that down; inspiration comes from varied sources and I am blessed to have more than one post that has encouraged me.

  4. Give link/lyrics or title of your favourite encouraging song?

My current favourite is a beautiful song called “Another in the Fire” by Hillsong UNITED.

5. What is your all-time favourite encouraging scripture?

Well this one is hard as it can change depending on the goings-on in my life but at the moment it is

Isaiah 40:31
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew my strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

I have nominated the following people who encourage and Inspire me. There is no pressure to participate but I look forward to reading your answers if you choose to.

Tina from God’s Kid Speaks

Vivian from God’s Whispers of Truth

Grace M from Tizzie’s Tidbits of truth

Musings and Roses

Cindy Dawson from Real Christian Women

Questions for the nominees:

  1. What is something you are most thankful for?
  2. What is your favourite writing genre?
  3. Who is your favourite author?
  4. What is your favourite encouraging scripture?
  5. What is your current favourite Christian song?

  1. Thank you for participating sweet friend. You know, “decent” cook seems like a modest statement, I’m of the impression this scientist can “through down” 😂. I heard that song for the first time a few weeks ago and I must say – it was goooooooddddd!

  2. I enjoyed reading all of your answers. You don’t enjoy folding laundry, huh? How do you feel about doing the dishes.? I love folding laundry. Dishes is my least favorite chore. Congrats, and thanks again for the nomination!

      1. I do that occasionally- but only when I don’t have the energy. I really do love folding laundry, though. specially when it’s fresh out of the dryer. It’s soothing for some reason.
